Test Case Project 3 : 5 Wall Game Enviroment ( Part 1 ) ( Modeling, Sculpting & Rendering )Hi, Lai, Randy and Sean ! How are you guys doing ?
I'm done with this 5 Wall Game Enviroment ( Part 1 ) ( Modeling, Sculpting & Rendering )
with natural speed in 9 days.
Day 1 ( 3 March 2011 ) ( Thursday ) :
( a ) After sending the Hot Air Balloon Project, i just have 5 hours left to start the 4 Wall Game Enviroment Project.
( b ) Do some research with Game Enviroment, like wall structure, ceiling board, sponge, plaster, wooden stick and more.
Day 2 ( 4 March 2011 ) ( Friday ) :
( a ) Start model the basic shape for the 4 Wall Game Enviroment's model.
( b ) Modeling base on the reference, photo and understanding of its structure.
Weekend ( 5 till 6 March 2011 )
Natural Speed is following the Office Working Hours, no works in weekend.
Day 3 ( 7 March 2011 ) ( Monday ) :
( a ) Develop more shapes and line for the 4 Wall Game Enviroment's model which is base on the original photo angle. It took a lot of time in matching the poly model with the original photo.
( b ) Finishing the modeling with base mesh which is ready to export for Z-Brush Sculpting.
Day 4 ( 8 March 2011 ) ( Tuesday ) :
( a ) Start sculpting the basic shape of the Game Enviroment Ground Part. It took a lot of time to figure out the sculpting location which based on original photo.
Day 5 ( 9 March 2011 ) ( Wednesday ) :
( a ) Keep sculpting the Game Enviroment Ground Part with more details on it. ( Sometimes, i need to export it out and render in Maya to check the right location. It took me a lot of time in "sculpting-checking-rendering" back and forth process. )
Day 6 ( 10 March 2011 ) ( Thursday ) :
( a ) Start sculpting the basic shape of the Game Enviroment Ceiling Part. It took a lot of time to figure out the sculpting location which based on original photo.
Day 7 ( 11 March 2011 ) ( Friday ) :
( a ) Keep sculpting the Game Enviroment Ceiling Part with more details on it. ( Sometimes, i need to export it out and render in Maya to check the right location. It took me a lot of time in "sculpting-checking-rendering" back and forth process. )
Weekend ( 12 till 13 March 2011 )
Natural Speed is following the Office Working Hours, no works in weekend.
Day 8 ( 14 March 2011 ) ( Monday ) :
( a ) Finishing the whole sculpting including ground and ceiling part.
( b ) Decimation Process
( c ) Export the high poly models and ready to bake maps in Maya.
Day 9 ( 15 March 2011 ) ( Tuesday ) :
( a ) Setting the light and camera for rendering.
( b ) Render the finals images with a lot of angles and views.
( c ) Spend 3 hours for compositing the images and final poster.
( d ) Pack up the files and ready to send for you guys.
Overall, i enjoy the 5 Wall Game Enviroment ( Part 1 ) ( Modeling, Sculpting & Rendering ) very much. It was fun and challenging , especially the sculpting section ! It took me a lot of time to back and forth by checking the models between Maya and Z-Brush.
I hope you guys can give me some advice, feedback and suggestion. I would be very appreciate with it. Thank you.

(I can't send the Z-Brush High Poly Version becasue it's size is about 1.1 GB. But i will send the whole set of maps in finals. )
